Pacific Testing Pty Ltd was formed in 1998 to provide external corrosion exposure facilities. It has grown to encompass wide-ranging corrosion consulting and comprehensive laboratory and field testing services.

Dr Robert Jeffrey
Robert has over 40 years research and development experience in heavy industry working as a metallurgist, non-destructive testing specialist, chemist, weld inspector, research and development engineer, inventor, forensic investigator and research scientist. This experience has been gained working with companies including BHP Steel, Tomago Aluminium, BHP Wire Products and The University of Newcastle.
Robert has a degree in Chemical Engineering and also is a qualified metallurgist, welding technologist, NDT technician. Additionally, he has a PhD in Civil Engineering for researching corrosion.
Robert is a member of the Australian Standards Committee M-014 – Corrosion of Metals, and contributes to standards relating to atmospheric and marine corrosion of metals and materials.
Dr Jeffrey is employed on an as-needs basis as consultant for corrosion related issues by Australian Marine & Offshore Group
He is a past president of the Australasian Corrosion Association (ACA) and has been on the committee of the Newcastle ACA branch for over twenty years. He has authored or co-authored over 60 journal and conference papers.
Awards include the prestigious T J Hoar Award for the best paper published in Corrosion Science (Co-authored). Robert has twice been presented with the Marshal Fordham award for corrosion research and more recently the AC Kennet Award for research into non-metallic corrosion.
